Presentation transcript:

The Rabbi came to the meeting room to look at the items in the box. In our drama work Farah and Charlie looked after him as everyone became the walls of the room looking on and listening. We discovered that there was a prayer shawl belonging to the Rabbi’s grandfather in there. He was so pleased that he had that back. He was keen though for us to find out who had taken these precious things.

We were very interested in the plagues and so found out more about them.

No one came forward so we made an appeal for witnesses on the news and on this BBC show. Many people had information for us. We used silent phone calls to show the conversations that people were having. We also listened in to parts of these conversations and shared the information from them. There were reports of suspicious acting people wearing a hat and glasses.

There was a problem with the police dog department so we also had to make sure we had good timetables for looking after them; making sure they were being fed and exercised at the right times for instance.

What did this mean?

Who might it have been? We used drama to show who was working there.

Maybe we would have to interview everyone? And then… We found some CCTV pictures [created by us!]. They showed us that it was actually Becky the tour guide who had taken the objects. When Detectives Cull and Brannan went to her house she explained that she only borrowed the things and was returning them to the synagogue when she saw someone she knew and panicked!

She hid the box in the park but when she went to fetch it a little while later it was gone. She didn’t say anything because she didn’t want to lose her job. In pairs we showed the conversations between Rabbi Goldstein and Superintendent Jones. The Rabbi was convinced to give Becky a chance. We showed the moment that she apologised and Rabbi Goldstein accepted – talking to her about asking before taking something. Becky felt really guilty still so we suggested she send the Rabbi a card.

“Should you take something which doesn’t belong to you?”
