All about North Korea

 North Korea borders South Korea, a democratic country. North Korea is a one- man dictatorship. 

 (2011)North Korea is ruled by Kim Jong-un and their prime minister is Choe Yong-rim(2010 ). The one-man dictatorship has been going on for a long time. A more known dictator of North Korea is Kim Jong-il. The economy of North Korea is always affected by warfare between North and South Korea.

 Industries: military products; machine building, electric power, chemicals; mining (coal, iron ore, magnesite, graphite, copper, zinc, lead, and precious metals), 

 North Korea is on the Eurasia plate.  Latitude:38°N-42°N Longitude:125°E - 131°E  North Korea is on the Northern hemisphere.  Land area: 46,490 sq mi (120,409 sq km); total area: 46,540 sq mi (120,540 sq km) 

 Natural resources: coal, lead, tungsten, zinc, graphite, magnesite, iron ore, copper, gold, pyrites, salt, fluorspar, hydropower  The capital of North Korea is Pyongyang.  The two seas that border North Korea are the yellow sea and the sea of Japan.  Mountains cover about 80% of Korea and most education was about agriculture.  China is right behind North Korea. 

 North Korea has been involved in many wars such as the famous Korean war. Also there was an episode of “Deadliest Warrior” were the U.S. Army Rangers fought the North Korean Special Operations Forces and they said this is a very possible scenario because North Korea could invade South Korea again and the U.S. could fight along South Korea.

 People probably lived on the Korean peninsula for years.  and World Book pgs

 Many wars have come upon Korea such as the Korean War. In 1950, North Korean troops invaded South Korea. This action triggered the Cold War struggle between communist and non-communist stations. The Korean war ended in 1953, however no side had actually won! In March 2010, the South Korean warship Cheonan was sunk in an area of the Yellow Sea that's in dispute with North Korea. Forty-six sailors were killed. South Korea suspected North Korea was responsible and ordered an international investigation so the results of the probe would be perceived as impartial. In May, investigators produced a piece of a torpedo propeller that they believed had a North Korea serial number.  World Book Page: 368 and

 The south Koreans now had evidence. After the south concluded that the north was responsible they closed seaways, cut trades and even blasted propaganda through loud speakers at the border! From that day on North and South divided and the North would attack the south with their army and the deadly North Korean Special Operations Forces! 

 Religions: Buddhist and mainly Christian  Population: North Korea houses 24,589,122 people(as of 2012).  The main language is Korean and it’s population is a mix of Chinese and Japanese.  Growth rate is 0.535% and their Life expectancy is 69.2 years.
