Turn your Thanksgiving into… Thanks-Living!

The difference between Thanksgiving & Thanks-Living Seasonal Thanksgiving focuses on self. (food/football/finding deals) Thanks-Living focuses on God and others!

The difference between Thanksgiving & Thanks-Living Thanksgiving comes once a year no matter what. Thanks-Living is something we must daily recommit ourselves to.

Scriptural basis for Thanks-Living 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Scriptural basis for Thanks-Living Matthew 13:45-46 (NIV) “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.” Thanks-Living recognizes God is not an “add-on” to life.

Scriptural basis for Thanks-Living Matthew 25:19-21 (NIV) “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’ His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!’”

Greater Kingdom responsibility If you turn your seasonal Thanksgiving into daily Thanks-Living, you are promised two things by God: Greater Kingdom responsibility Greater joy

What does Thanks-Living look like? Recognition that we are stewards (managers), not owners, of God’s resources (time, talent, treasure). “What right do I have to use them for anything other than what God intended?”

What does Thanks-Living look like? Striving daily to make choices that please God. Showing God that I can be trusted with greater Kingdom responsibility. (God’s ledger)

What resources has God blessed me with to invest in His Kingdom? Time Talent Treasure

Thanks-Living questions to ponder… God has blessed me with the gift of time! “How might I be able to show my thanks to God by using the time I have on this earth more wisely?

Thanks-Living questions to ponder… God has blessed me with the gift of talents (abilities)! “How might I be able to show my thanks to God by serving in His church and this community?

Thanks-Living questions to ponder… God has blessed me with the gift of treasure (finances)! “How might I be able to show my thanks to God by giving generously so that others might be blessed?”

Thanks-Living Quotes “Gratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday epiphanies, those transcendent moments of awe that change forever how we experience life and the world.” ~ John Milton

Thanks-Living Quotes "We pray for the big things and forget to give thanks for the ordinary, small (and yet really not small) gifts. How can God entrust great things to one who will not thankfully receive from Him the little things?" ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer

What do you choose today? Seasonal Thanksgiving or Your Choice! What do you choose today? Seasonal Thanksgiving or Daily Thanks-Living?
