Matthew 6:9-13 9 “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

1. Will: Matthew 6:10 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

The will is the ability to choose, think, and act voluntarily.

God’s will is His ability to choose, think, and act voluntarily as God.

2.1 God’s Will vs Human Will: Mark 8:32-33 32 He spoke plainly about this, and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. 33 But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. “Get behind me, Satan!” he said. “You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”

Yet not as I will, but as you will.” 42 He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.” 44 So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.
