6. “The greatest issue facing the world today, with all its heart breaking needs, is whether those who, by profession or culture, are identified as ‘Christians’ will become disciples— students, apprentices, practitioners— of Jesus Christ, still learning from him how to live the life of the Kingdom of Heaven into every corner of human existence.” (Dallas Willard)

7. After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!” Mark 1: 14-15

8. As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” At once they left their nets and followed him. Mark 1:16-18

9. When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets. Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him. Mark 1: 19-20

10. And this is the proper response to Jesus’ call: to follow him

11. Jesus calls us from the ordinary to adventure.

13. Matthew 13 44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. 45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
