MUSIC EDUCATION AT LAKE TRAVIS LTHS Cavalier Band & LTHS Orchestra : Sponsor Request Sincerest thanks for your interest in supporting music education at Lake Travis. Corporate sponsorship funds play a large role in allowing the parent booster club to do some great things to support LTHS musicians. Here are just a few ways that the parent boosters and program directors put sponsor money to good use: Specialized clinician instruction for each major instrument division – marching and concert seasons Music scores, drill writing and competition entry fees Field supplies and props for the fall marching show Transportation for long distance events Scholarships for students pursuing their music education during the summer or heading to college End of year banquet to honor these hard working students Supplies and other resources that can’t be funded from the school budget… and much more! About the Band: We expect to have 170 student musicians and color guard performers on the field this marching season with 55 incoming Freshman! These musician’s start rehearsal the first week of August and will not only perform at all football games, but also marching contests including Bands of America Super Regionals. After football season, your sponsorship dollars continue to support these musicians during UIL concert and the spring season. About the Orchestra: These 100 string musicians include students on viola, violin, cello, bass and harp. They perform concerts year- round and have a break-out group of students who perform as the Lake Travis Fiddlers who cut their first ever CD last year in Ray Benson’s studio! The LTHS orchestra is proud to send several students each year to region UIL and had several UIL state qualifiers this last season. WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

Avenue #1: Advertise Your Company! Sign on the Band Rehearsal/Senior Parking Lot Fence at HS This fence is prominently located at the entrance to the main LTHS building, and viewed by thousands during school days. Simply put, it’s one of the best and few advertising opportunities on school grounds permitted. Logo on Semi-Trailer The band uses a semi-trailer year-round to move instruments and equipment to and from all away games and competitions. When not in use, it is parked in front of the Performing Arts Center at the High School. Logo on the Equipment Truck Similar to the semi-trailer, the band and the orchestra utilize a smaller cargo truck when the equipment needs are minimal or when smaller groups like our drumline or jazz band perform and/or compete. When not in use and on the road, this vehicle is also parked in front of the Performing Arts Center. Logo on the Band Parent Set-Up Team Shirts There are band parents who serve on the FEDS team, “front ensemble deployment squad” – which helps the band get on and off the field at every game and every performance. They wear matching t-shirts so they are easily recognizable while promoting their work as a team. Logos on the shirts help pay for the shirts and offer great advertising for businesses – these team members are on the football field every game! Logo on the Orchestra Student Performance Shirt Around 100 students and staff in the strings program will have a group t-shirt that they wear all year long for contests, concerts and casual wear also. $1,500 - Sponsorship Level for 1 of the above, 2,000 - for 2 of the above, or $2,500 - for 3 of the above 2 Spots Left!

Avenue #2: Concession Stand Advertising in Cavalier Stadium Last year, the ISD made exclusive agreements with advertisers to help pay for a new video and scoreboard for the LTHS football stadium. To this end, advertising is very limited inside the stadium, a venue that allows for excellent reach to the audience by business sponsors – roughly 30,000 pass through the gates in a single season for varsity games! The band operates the concession stands for all home varsity football games, and can offer the following advertising opportunities for our sponsors: Fountain Beverage Cups This year, for the first time ever, we will offer plastic souvenir cups with the LT logo on one side and two business logos on the other – we sell around 4,000-5,000 fountain beverages in a season. Concession Sponsor Night We want to partner with a business who will be our “sponsor of the evening”. We will put your logo in our counter signs, announce your sponsorship at half time, and our parents working the stand will wear a logo item from your business that you provide to us (t-shirt, hat, pin – your choice!) Games this season that are available, Lake Travis vs. : Waco Midway Del Valle Anderson Atkins Westlake - SOLD! $1,500 Sponsorship Level (per game) SOLD!

Avenue #3: Fall Showcase Night Fundraiser On the Friday night of our football team’s by-week, we are hosting a “fall showcase” fund raiser on an evening that will highlight our half-time performers. There will be performances from the Band, the Cavalettes, Cheer team, the middle school music programs and others. This is a great opportunity for friends, parents and relatives of these performers to watch the performance without all the noise and chaos of the football game, and give our students a chance to perform their show prior to attending the first marching competition of the season. We expect around 800 in attendance at this event, and would like to find just one business sponsor to promote at this event. Which would include: Logo on the back of tickets sold before and at the event Logo on the flyers and s promoting the event Hand out of any business logo materials during the event/vendor table if desired Announcement of your business multiple times during the event Signage at the concession stand Includes sign on band parking lot fence too if you are the exclusive sponsor! $2,000 Sponsorship Level Exclusive Option: $500 each seeking a total of 4 companies

Whole Note & Half Note Sponsors We know that small businesses in the Lake Travis area are approached by many of the programs and clubs that support students and the community. We also offer the following sponsorship levels: $500 – Quarter Note sponsor recognition $250 – Eighth Note sponsor recognition Benefits shown on the next page IN KIND DONATION (of needed foods, goods or services that benefit all band and/or orchestra students) We are happy to accept in-kind donations. Based on the value of the in-kind donation you will receive the appropriate level of sponsor benefits as they are listed above.

We honor all sponsors with the following: Thank you photo/plaque from the band to display at your business Recognition in the home football program* Recognition in all band and orchestra concert programs – printed program and pre-concert slide show Recognition on both the band and orchestra websites Recognition on both the band and orchestra Facebook fan page Sponsorship is good for 1 year. *Must have sponsorship commitment on or before August 12 th to make the football program print deadline.

Thank you for your consideration. The LT Band Parent and LT Orchestra Parent boosters are both 501(c)3 – and thus your contributions are tax deductible. We will provide you with a receipt for your tax records. For more information, contact Julie Ward at or Music must always be an integral part of the educational process. Every human being should have the opportunity to experience and share, through music, those emotions uplift mankind, nurture quality of life, and give depth and meaning to our existence. Such experiences are present on every musical plateau from the delight of learning the first simple melody to being a part of a vibrant performing organization. Beauty, aesthetics and a realization of all emotions through the arts are a precious part of the human experience. They are every present in music. Richard Floyd, Texas UIL State Director of Music "Music education can be a positive force on all aspects of a child's life, particularly on their academic success. The study of music by children has been linked to higher scores on the SAT and other learning aptitude tests, and has proven to be an invaluable tool in classrooms across the country. Given the impact music can have on our children's education, we should support every effort to bring music into their classrooms." U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman (NM)
