Centre of Excellence – IT4Innovations 17  Centre of Excellence IT4I is the only Centre of Excellence in the IT field in the Czech Republic. Ostrava is becoming not only a national but also a global IT centre. That is, among others, involved in PRACE Initiative (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe)  The supercomputer will be used for research purposes – modelling of various behaviours such as floods, pollution simulation, design and optimization of materials, development of new drugs, etc.
