Tuition Cost is cost is continuously rising each year for all these colleges. This graph shows a comparison of tuition cost for each college the last two years

Compared to the other colleges, the University of Scranton has the highest tuition and is increasing at a higher rate compared to the other schools. Misericordia University is the cheapest of the five. The cost of going to college can be an issue to many people. For someone who is very financially limited, Scranton should be near the bottom of their list of choices. It costs almost $10,000 more than Misericordia! Tuition Average Rate of Increase Per YearAverage % Change Per Year $ 1, % $ 1, % $ 1, % $ 1, % $ 1, %

H OWEVER, DESPITE ITS HIGH TUITION, STUDENTS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF SCRANTON RECEIVE SIGNIFICANTLY MORE FINANCIAL AID THAN THE OTHER COLLEGES. IRONICALLY, STUDENTS IN MISERICORDIA, WHICH HAS THE LOWEST TUITION, RECEIVE THE LOWEST TOTAL AMOUNT OF FINANCIAL AID. IT IS ALSO WORTH MENTIONING THAT ROOM & BOARD IS INCREASING AT A HIGHER RATE AT MISERICORDIA AND MARYWOOD THAN SCRANTON.

Enrollment The size and population of the college can be a factor in a person’s decision. Some people prefer smaller colleges than larger ones. All five colleges have a relatively small number of students compared to other schools such as Penn State. Compared to each other, the University of Scranton and Wilkes University have the most students, while Misericordia and King’s have the least.

Crime Crime is an unfortunate problem that happens on any college campus and may be considered when choosing a college that a parent or student know is safe. The University of Scranton has an exceedingly higher amount of accounted crime from than any other school. The information on the graph is the number of arrests that were made for various things. However, most of the arrests that account for such a high number for Scranton have to do with Liquor Law Violations. Alcohol is a more prominent problem at Scranton than the other schools.
