Zortec Property Tax 2015 Local Government Corporation

The basics.. You take payments, print reports and send out delinquent letters..

Let’s go over some tips and tricks to make Property Tax collection easier quicker and easier.

1. Search and Select 2. Public Utility / Ad Valorem Taxes 3. Tax Relief 4. Automated Mortgage Payments 5. Reprint Tax Bills

Search and Select

Street Name in first box Street Number in second box This makes it easier to search for properties on a street. If this kind of search isn’t working for you. Contact support to Format Street Name and Number

Search and Select Account Number is only for cities in Rutherford County.

Search and Select Balance Owed Use O (ONLY) – to search through only bills that have a balance due

Search and Select Total Due If you get a check in the mail without a bill number, type in the amount in both boxes. It will bring up all bills that have a balance.

Search and Select The search order is customizable by user. So if one clerk likes to search by name and another by parcel, their search screen can look different. Contact support to make this change.

Whether you call them public utility or advalorem taxes, you no longer have to enter them in manually. Public Utility Files

When you get the bills and reports from the state in December/January: 1. Do not mail them out. 2. Contact us to load the file 3. Wait to send out the bills until the file is loaded

The first year the file is loaded, you will need to edit the PR (Prior Year) parcel so that bills link between years.

To Issue Tax Relief 5. Transactions

Enter Year/Bill Number and the amount of Tax Relief to be Issued

Tax Relief can be receipted through Point of Sale or through Property Tax.

Tax Relief amount will default in receipt.

After receiving payment from state, Reimburse Tax Relief to finish the process.

Reimbursement amount will default in.

and amount moves to Reimbursed column.

If tax relief needs to be removed from a bill, DO NOT USE Adjust Tax Relief option. Issue a negative amount to remove.

Tax Relief Has Been Issued for This Bill. Continue? Answer Y

Enter Notes as Appropriate Enter Amount as Negative

The first year the file is loaded, you will need to edit the PR (Prior Year) parcel so that bills link between years.

Run the Tax Relief Balance Report to track the status of Tax Relief.

No Relief Due I – to get all bills which have been issued tax relief E – to get only bills which have been issued and receipted

Automated Mortgage Payments Receipt mortgage payments by file rather than entering each bill number.

Reprint Tax Bills If you would like to set up a form to reprint a tax bills, we can do this via Support. The form on the next page is printed to a Formspooler printer – the same kind of printer that you print Business Tax Licenses.
