Shannon Lee Miller was born on March 10, 1977 in Rolla, Missouri.

Her parents names were Ron and Claudia.

Shannon was in ballet for a long time. Then she had an interest in gymnastics.

At the age of nine, Shannon began training to be a gymnast at Dynamo Gymnastics Club.

Shannon attended Edmond High School and graduated in 1995.

Shannon was a member of the Women’s US Olympic Gymnastics team in 1992 and 1996 Shannon went on to the 1996 U.S. National Championships and got first place.

Shannon scored her first perfect 10 on the Balance Beam.

7 Olympic Medals 9 World Championship Medals Only US Gymnast to win 2 All-Around Titles. Only female athlete to be inducted into the US Olympic Hall of Fame twice!

Shannon married an eye surgeon named Christopher Philips.

Shannon retired in 2000 from gymnastics because of a knee injury on her last event, which was the uneven bars.
