Presentation transcript:

Verse and Play Areas of attention

1. You are familiar with the play, but not your audience. Besides, our story is original, unlike My Fair Lady or Romeo and Juliet. You have to speak loudly and slowly, in front of the microphones and facing the audience, even when you are in a conversation with other characters.

2. The makeup is not that clear viewed from the back of the hall. The makeup can be more exaggerating. However, you cannot rely on the makeup alone to make the audience believe in the fact that you are playing an animal. You have to use animal gestures and behaviours to convey this message. Otherwise there is not a clear distinction between the animals and the humans.

3. Once you are on stage, you are a professional actress. It does not matter whether it is the dress rehearsal or the competition, or whether you have any line or not. *You have to react to the action around you and what other characters say!

4. Make sure that the props are in GOOD condition for the competition. Each student should take care of her own costumes and accessories. We still need the lock for the cage, the casino backdrop and the magician’s props.

We only have a few more days before the competition. We only have a few more days before the competition. We have to do our best and impress the audience.
