Schedule is available on web site

Membership Growth Membership (per list) has grown from 35 to 175 (as of 25-Sep-2010). Quite likely that we will be too big for Truman in another month or two Truman Limit estimated

Meeting Changes – Location Looked for larger facilities at every rec center Preferred “auditorium” at regional center but none available at a reasonable time of day Best we could find was 200 seat facility at Colony 1/3 larger than what we have today Better facilities WiFi enabled (will be important in the future)

Meeting Changes - Location Moving to Colony Cottage in November Meetings will be 4 th Wed of the month No change in time; still 3PM to 5PM Last meeting at Truman: 3-Nov-2010 First meeting at Colony Cottage: 24-Nov New schedule is available as hand out today. Schedule is available on web site

Web Site   All club information is on the web site:  Normal s will continue with links to web site to reduce size of s  No more giant s; no more overflowing InBoxes  If someone asks about the club, send them to the web site  archives  Articles  Photo sets  Videos  Book Lists  Presentations  Links to WW2 sites, museums, …  Schedules (meetings, movie night)  Club News  Glossaries & Chronologies

Finances  Club expenses have been for equipment (over head projector), presentation materials, photocopying costs and refreshments.  Club is presently several hundred dollars in the RED  Would prefer to not charge dues or to “pass the helmet”, so we have several methods to offset expenses.

Refreshments  Coffee has been free so far, but there is a cost and we will start charging $0.25 per cup when we move to Colony  Beer is available for a donation of $2 per can.

Articles Library  Articles Store at the back of the room  All articles published are available for purchase for modest fee (1 or 2 page items are free).  All articles are also available on the web site.  Any “profit” goes to offset other club costs.

Book Sale  Book Sale Table at the back of the room  All items have been donated  Proceeds will help offset cost of running the club  If you have anything to donate, contact Jim Renner or one of the other steering committee members

Raffle  We will raffle off a copy of a Don Goldstein book at each meeting. Today’s books are “Miracle at Midway” and “At Dawn We Slept”  Don will personally autograph the book for you after the meeting.  Tickets are $1 each, 3 for $2  Proceeds will help offset cost of running the club

New Book List  Previous handout identified approx 200 books  Supplemental list identified 10 excellent sources, but they may be hard to find, some were expensive and sometimes a bit hard to read.  Newest list is 15 books that are easy to find, relatively inexpensive and not too difficult to read  No list is perfect

Handouts for Today  Meeting Schedule  Movie Night Schedule  New booklist

Special Veterans Meeting - 1  November meeting will be dedicated to our WW2 vets  Vets will be given an opportunity to talk about their experiences.  All club members who are vets will be contacted in the next week or so  No one should feel any pressure to participate  Will extend the meeting duration if necessary.

Special Veterans Meeting - 2  Coordinator is Jim Renner: (352)  We are trying to arrange for session to be video taped by WW2 Oral History Project  Anyone who wants to speak but does not want to be video taped – that’s OK
