 Replaces the heart.  Commonly used in heart transplants operations.  Goal: Permanently replace the heart.

 It inserted into the left ventricle of the heart to eject blood out of the aortic valve and is used either to replace temporarily the patient's own heart while it is being operated on and can't circulate blood, or permanently to augment the patient's failing heart.
