cava and enters the right atrium
The right atrium squeezes blood through the tricuspid
valve into the right ventricle
The right ventricle pumps blood through the pulmonary
valve to the lungs for oxygenation via the pulmonary artery
The blood is carried from the lungs back to the left atrium
via the pulmonary veins
The left atrium pushes the oxygenated blood
through the mitral (bicuspid) valve to the
left ventricle
The left ventricle pumps blood through the
aortic valve into the systemic circuit
(to the body) via the aorta
