  Egyptians used linen because Egypt has a hot climate and linen is a light material. Small amounts of silk were traded to the eastern Mediterranean and traces of silk have been found in Egyptian tombs. Some priests and pharaohs wore animal skin. Linen is made from the fibers of the flax plant which the Egyptians grew. Kids didn’t wear clothing until they were about six years old. Clothing Material

  Egyptians began making jewelry out of the earth itself.  They made the jewelry out of turquoise, carnelian, chalcedony, feldspar, amethyst, and lapis lazuli, but mostly gold.  Both men and women wore jewelry.  They had a lot of jewelry including amulets, necklaces, pendants, bracelets, rings, head jewelry, anklets, diadems, collars, collarets and insignia.  Many items of jewelry took the form of amulets designed to ward off the evil eye and protect the wearer from evil forces both natural and supernatural.  Lucky charm jewelry was fashioned in images of gods, magical signs, hieroglyphs and animals. Jewelry

  Many people in ancient Egypt went barefoot their whole lives. It was warm there even in the winter, and people thought shoes were an unnecessary expense.  Most people who did have shoes wore shoes made out of straw or reeds. Shoemakers took the straw or reeds and wove it into flip-flops. Shoes

  Women wore straight dresses with one or two straps. They also wore headdresses and jewelry. Both men and women wore makeup. They sometimes wore shoes. Women’s Style

  Men of the working classes wore a loincloth or short kilt and sometimes a type of shirt. Plus they would sometimes wear shoes. They wore makeup and head ware too. Men Style

  Men and women wore makeup. They both wore black eyeliner and blue and green eye shadow. Makeup

  We still wear makeup but different colors.  And we wear clothes but they are made out of more stuff.  We also wear shoes but they are more than flip-flops and they are made out of more things than straw or reeds.  And our jewelry is not as fancy as theirs was.  So over all our style is different than it was back then.  You can still by Egyptian linen though.
