Skinsan Volumes For Laundering Australian Medical Sheepskin Quantities of Detergent are based on standard in- home washing machine.

Clean or Dry Weight

Soiled or Wet Weight If urine or fecal matter are involved, rinse the product with clean water while waiting for laundering. Urine or fecal matter constitutes soiled or wet weight and will add approximately 1 lb to dry weight with increased Skinsan volumes required.

Soiled or Wet Weight

Washing Temperatures For Australian Medical Sheepskin

-Thermal disinfection is achieved between 60⁰ - 80⁰ C for 8 minutes of which Australian Medical Sheepskin has been designed to withstand. However, the higher the temp the shorter the lifespan of Australian Medical Sheepskin -Skinsan detergent kills MRSA, VRE and Staph infection, lowering the need for thermal disinfection, therefore increasing the lifespan of the product -Skinsan detergent is the only detergent allowed for cleaning Australian Medical Sheepskin -Australian Medical Sheepskin can be laundered commercially or at home

-Run the machine through a rinse cycle with no detergent to clear any residual detergent from previous washing -A table spoon of salt in the first wash will help to keep the color fast -In home, run standard wash cycle as you would do a normal load using only Skinsan detergent -After the wash cycle is complete, put through the spin cycle once again -Place the Australian Medical Sheepskin in the dryer on medium to low heat for 40 minutes. (DO NOT EXCEED 60⁰ C)

-Take the Australian Medical Sheepskin from the dryer and stretch the leather in all directions, the term for this is called BREAKING THE GRAIN, it keeps the leather supple during the drying process. Repeat the above process until the leather is dry. -Commercial washing of this product requires special care as volumes are larger and temperatures can be intense. Australian Medical Sheepskin MUST be washed separately from other linens and with ONLY Skinsan detergent.

Breakdown of Skinsan Detergent and MSDS

Skinsan Detergent is made up of three main compounds 1.A Bacteriostat 2.A Foaming Agent 3.A Wetting Agent

-The Bacteriostat is a quaternary ammonia compound which kills MRSA, VRE, and Staph infections -The Foaming Agent flushes the built up body fluids and skin cells from the hollow wool fibers -The wetting agent rehydrates the leather to keep it supple
