WHAT IS ENERGY? ENERGY is the ability to do work.
Let’s look at some examples to help better understand the forms of ENERGY and their relation to work. Plants use the sun’s energy to grow and produce oxygen. A radio uses energy to produce sound. A mill uses energy to grind grain.
HUMANS use energy in everything they do. Can you say things in which we use energy? Humans obtain resources from the Earth to do these activities. ENERGY can be made from energy RESOURCES.

RENEWABLE RESOURCES What do you think a renewable resource is? Renewable resources regenerate or can be replaced in a short time period.

ALTERNATIVE RESOURCES What do you think an alternative resource is? Alternative resources are all renewable but they do not need regeneration. SUNWINDWAVES
