Ethnic Religion/Autonomous Religion Amish communities are well established Amish people don’t interact with outsiders They don’t have missionaries or focus on spreading and diffusing their religion Churches in districts but they are autonomous usually with about 75 members each. Amish worship in the bishops house.

Diffusion In the early 1700s, the Amish relocated from Switzerland to the Pennsylvania. Hierarchical Diffusion: Religion spreads when church leaders establish new communities. Relocation: The religion spreads from one concentrated community to another. Amish people diffuse over time due to the high birth rate. This diffusion was mostly towards the west.
