INTRODUCING The name of:

Let’s Look at the Scriptures: “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name” (Philippians 2:9).

Let’s Look at the Scriptures: “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” (Matthew 28:18).

Let’s Look at the Scriptures: “And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?” (Acts 4:7).

When Should the Name of Jesus be used? The better question may be, “When shouldn’t the name of Jesus be used?”

One writer said: “And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Colossians 3:17).

The name of “Jesus” is mentioned six hundred times in the Bible The name of “Jesus” is mentioned six hundred times in the Bible. His name represents great power and authority.

Use the powerful name of Jesus IN PRAYER: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it” (John 14:12-14).

Use the powerful name of Jesus IN PREACHING: “And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem” (Luke 24:47).

Use the powerful name of Jesus WHEN YOU ARE IN NEED: “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you” (John 5:16).

Use the powerful name of Jesus IN HEALING: “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all” (Acts 3:6, 16).

Use the powerful name of Jesus IN HEALING: “And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this? Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole” (Acts 4:7, 10).

Use the powerful name of Jesus WHEN CASTING OUT DEMONS: “And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour” (Acts 16:18).

Use the powerful name of Jesus TO RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE: “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name” (John 20:31).

Use the powerful name of Jesus IN SALVATION: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Use the powerful name of Jesus IN WATER BAPTISM: “(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus)” (Acts 8:16).

Use the powerful name of Jesus IN WATER BAPTISM: “And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days” (Acts 10:48).

Use the powerful name of Jesus IN WATER BAPTISM: “When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Acts 19:5).

Use the powerful name of Jesus IN WATER BAPTISM: “And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord” (Acts 22:16).

Use the powerful name of Jesus IN EVERYTHING: “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him” (Colossians 3:17).

Baptism is to be done in Jesus Name. “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” (Matthew 28:19). Ron Schoolcraft in “A Fresh Look at Matthew 28:19” states that this verse is one of the best verses in the Bible for baptism in Jesus name.

Baptism is to be done in Jesus Name. “What is the name in Matthew 28:19?” The answer is simply, yet profoundly, “JESUS”.

Baptism is to be done in Jesus Name. “The crystal-clear proof is found in the Book of Acts where the apostles obeyed Matthew 28:19 by baptizing in the name of Jesus!” The disciples were not merely asked to repeat a formula, titles, or words. They were told to baptize in the name.

Baptism is to be done in Jesus Name. Every account of baptism in the New Testament Church was done in the name of Jesus. Peter, the first preacher, was given the keys to the kingdom. “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18).

Baptism is to be done in Jesus Name. Peter used the name of Jesus in baptism: “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” (Acts 2:38).

Baptism is to be done in Jesus Name. Peter used the name of Jesus in baptism: “(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus)” (Acts 8:16).

Baptism is to be done in Jesus Name. Peter used the name of Jesus in baptism: “And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days” (Acts 10:48).

Baptism is to be done in Jesus Name. A Further Look at the Scriptures: “When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Acts 19:5).

Baptism is to be done in Jesus Name. A Further Look at the Scriptures: “And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord” (Acts 22:16).

Baptism is to be done in Jesus Name. A Further Look at the Scriptures: “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ” (Galatians 3:27).

Baptism is to be done in Jesus Name. A Further Look at the Scriptures: “And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem” (Luke 24:47).

Why Baptize in “The Name?” His name is above every name. “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).

Why Baptize in “The Name?” His name is above every name. “Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:” (Ephesians 1:21).

Why Baptize in “The Name?” There is salvation in no other name. “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:10-12).

Why Baptize in “The Name?” Whatsoever you do should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus. “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him” (Colossians 3:17).

Why Baptize in “The Name?” We are washed in the name of the Lord Jesus. “And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God” (1 Corinthians 6:11).

Why Baptize in “The Name?” We are to obey God’s Word. “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” (Acts 2:38).

Why Baptize in “The Name?” We are to obey God’s Word. “And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days” (Acts 10:48).

Why baptize in “The Name?” The Apostle Paul was so convinced that baptism in Jesus name was necessary that he rebaptized some believers (Acts 19:1-5). JESUS

Why baptize in “The Name?” Baptism remits sin. The blood of Jesus Christ is necessary to remit sin. “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission” (Hebrews 9:22). JESUS

Why baptize in “The Name?” Baptism remits sin. The blood of Jesus Christ is necessary to remit sin. “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). JESUS

Why baptize in “The Name?” The only biblical way to receive remission of sin is through baptism in Jesus name (Luke 24:47; Acts 2:38). JESUS

Water baptism is to be done in name of the Lord Jesus Christ. REMEMBER: Water baptism is to be done in name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
