Transportation to Guilin from USA (fly to Hong Kong, cross border and take train or plane; fly to Shanghai and then fly to Guilin): Varies Initial visa fee for entering China (you will pay this to the Chinese embassy when applying for the visa): ~$140 Fee may vary based on your college degree status. 280 yuan for physical upon arrival: $44 Food /Housing: 50 yuan/day or $7.50 in Yangshuo, paid from the first day you arrive at Yangshuo until the date you leave for the school site: $50- $75 Transportation to the school site: $30-$225. ( This cost will be reimbursed upon your arrival at the school) Medical Insurance, purchased upon receiving contract: $32

Air: The airfare from the USA or Hong Kong to Guilin is always much more expensive than flying from a Chinese city like Shanghai, Guangzhou or Shenzhen. We recommend flying to China first and then get a separate flight to Guilin. By train: From Shenzhen or Shanghai there are frequent trains to Guilin. Get a sleeper car! By bus: You can also travel to Guilin from Shenzhen by bus. After arriving in Shenzhen, take a taxi to the Yin Hu (means Silver Lake) bus station. There are direct express buses to Guilin every 2 or 3 hours. The bus ticket is around US dollars/ person. Tell the driver to let you out at Yangshuo which is before Guilin. The express bus will take hours. Travel at night on the sleeper bus for an interesting experience. Buckland will pick you up from the airport, bus, or train station!

Applications are available in the International Programs offices of the Seattle Colleges-- or online through the District website. Applications received from now through final deadline of Dec 15 or June 15 for February or September start.
