World War I: 1914 – 1918 Americans were divided; some wanted us to get involved in the war, while others wanted to avoid the fight. What would YOU have wanted? Does this sound similar to any wars the U.S. has been involved in recently? WHEN? ©2012, TESCCC

The assassination of Archduke Ferdinand and his wife in 1914, heir to the Austrian throne, sparked a world-wide event. Countries began declaring war: Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia Germany declared war on Russia. Germany declared war on France. Britain declared war on Germany. WHEN? ©2012, TESCCC
