The assassination of Archduke Ferdinand and his wife in 1914, heir to the Austrian throne, sparked a world-wide event. Countries began declaring war: Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia Germany declared war on Russia. Germany declared war on France. Britain declared war on Germany. WHEN? ©2012, TESCCC
