ADJECTIVES  What is adjective?  Adjective is used to describe a noun.  Where should an adjective be placed?  a. in front of a noun  e.g. a smart boy  b. after verbs like “to be”, “to look”, etc..  e.g. She is beautiful

Functions of adjectives  1.Tell us who possesses the thing  e.g. This is my dog.  2.Give nationality or origin  e.g. He is an American boy.  3.Tell us about age  e.g. She is an old lady.  4.Tell us about size  e.g. He is a fat boy.

 5.Tell us about color  e.g. She is wearing a red dress.  6.Tell us about material  e.g. It is a wooden table.  7.Tell us about shape  e.g. It is a round table.  8.Tell us about purpose  e.g. This is a hunting dog.  9.Describe the qualities or feelings  e.g. It is a cute dog.
