3 Grammar Rules! 16. Where do we place adjectives in a sentence?  SUBJECT + “to be” VERB + ADJECTIVE. The kitten is cute. The kitten cute is.  Before a NOUN (ADJECTIVE + NOUN + Action VERB) The cute kitten plays. The kitten cute runs. 17. How do we order and punctuate lists of adjectives before nouns?  Order: article/possessive quantity, quality/opinion, size, age, shape/condition, color, origin, purpose/material NOUN  Punctuation: In a list of adjectives, place commas between all the adjectives EXCEPT articles/possessives. No comma before noun. The, black, cute, five, kittens play all day.
