Are you ready to ferret out the dastardly Gang of 14? TIME IS RUNNING OUT Are you ready to ferret out the dastardly Gang of 14?

Who can help us? The Bionic Bomb Squad The Awesome Aero-Travelers The Clever Crime Stoppers The Smiley Spy Catchers The Jiffy Geographers The Rancid Ringsters

How will climographs help? A CLIMOGRAPH shows the following information for a particular location: latitude & longitude; elevation; mean (average) monthly temperature in °C or °F; and mean (average) precipitation in centimeters or inches.

DIRECTIONS: Read the clues on the screen. Match the Locations to one of the 14 Climographs your group has. Show your Location guesses to your teacher. Keep all clue slips safe.

Location #1 The elevation of this city exceeds 1000 m. Annual temperatures range from nearly - 30° C to 25° C. Eight months out of the year show little or no precipitation. This city lies 48° from the Equator.

Location #2 The elevation of this city is just above sea level. September and October are the wettest months. Winter temperatures range between 0° C and 10° C. This city is found 140° from the Prime Meridian.

Monthly temperatures are just under 30° C. Location #3   Monthly temperatures are just under 30° C. The wettest months are November, December, and January. The city lies 1° from the Equator. The elevation of this city is 10 m.

Location #4 This mountainous city is found on the Equator. There is little variation in monthly temperatures. This city is nearly 80° from the Prime Meridian. June, July, and August are its driest months.

Remember The bomb is NOT in one of your climograph cities. The clues you receive from your teacher will lead you to the location of the bomb.

Location #5 This location receives less than 5 cm of precipitation in any given month. Averaging 29°C, January is clearly its warmest month. Its elevation is below 1000 m. Located on the Tropic of Capricorn, this location will certainly refresh visitors.

Location #6 This arid city lies just north of the Equator. This city sees little variation in monthly temperatures. This city’s elevation is just above sea level. December, January, and February see little or no precipitation.

This city receives less than 10 cm of precipitation monthly. Location #7 This city receives less than 10 cm of precipitation monthly. Located more than 50° from the Equator, this city is on the Prime Meridian. July appears to be its warmest month. March and April are its driest months.

Have you begun to use the clues? Some clues are valuable, while others are useless. Some clues will guide you to a certain part of the earth.

Location #8 Monthly temperatures in this tropical location range between 22° C and 28° C. Precipitation does not exceed 10 cm in any month. Its elevation is just above sea level. It is 21° away from the Equator.

Location #9 This Southern Hemisphere city is located just west of the 57th meridian. Its elevation is below 30 m. Temperatures during its coldest months of June, July, and August hover around 10° C. March precipitation exceeds 10 cm.

This location’s wettest month is July.   This location’s wettest month is July. Temperatures average about 25° C in June, July, and August. This location has an elevation just over 50 m. This location is south of the Arctic Circle.

You have 6 guesses to locate the bomb. Guess carefully.
