AN UPDATE FROM THE DISTRICT STAFF APRIL 4, 2014

Goals Guide Anderson One through a plan of action providing the necessary resources to make transition to a mobile environment as seamless and efficient as possible. Create a positive culture of creative learning among students, parents, teachers and the administration in order to drive adaptation through excitement for change. Provide a wide range of training on the use of mobile devices to advance the knowledge of students, teachers and administrators. Carefully apply funding to effectively yield the greatest value and impact. Grant every student access to mobile technology regardless of their economic background.

Implementation Committees Policy Committee: Chaired by Robbie Binnicker  Updated policies to include the use of district owned devices as tools for productivity and learning  Updated acceptable use policies to include all available technology resources for students, not limited to the internet Procedure Committee: Chaired by Lisa Cassidy  Developed procedures for the use of district owned iPads  Includes information on: Appropriate use of district owned iPads Student/Parent expectations and guidelines Paid Protection Plan Procedures for lost or stolen devices

Implementation Committees Digital Citizenship: Chaired by Christie Shealy  Developed digital citizenship lessons for all students  Topics include: Rights & Responsibility, Etiquette, Law & Policy Professional Development/Parents/Community: Chaired by Jane Harrison  Working with the iSchool Initiative to develop a detailed Professional Development program  Developing PowerPoint to be shared with parents

Support Being Provided iSchool initiative All Encompassing: -Professional Development for staff, students & parents -Virtual Professional Development -Assist with iPad rollouts at each school School Level Support: -iPad Experts -School Technologists -Principal Initiated Support/Creative Scheduling -Paid Protection Plan for Students -Group of high school students trained in trouble shooting -District policies/procedures being created for the schools -Airwatch mobile management system Instructional Support: - Instructional Technologists for each feeder system (2 new positions) -Trouble Shooting Technologists for each feeder system (3 new positions) -All positions based at the school level within the feeder systems Instructional/Technology Support Services: -Current District Technology Staff -One New Position: Coordinator of Digital Learning DRAFT

Staff Development All schools have onsite iPad training taking place June 5 & 6 Summer Academy – SAVE THE DATE  ALL SESSIONS will be technology based and applicable for teachers to easily implement the next day!  Sessions available for all ability/comfort levels!  Sessions will be led by both iSchool employees and a1 teachers.
