Objective: To teach the students about how difficult life could be for the hunter gatherers, I thought it would be fun to have them go out and clean up trash around campus. (1) It will help learn about life as a hunter-gatherer and allow them to hunt and gather. (2) It provides a community service and beautifies the campus. **** Later in the day take your class to someplace that has already been gleaned before taking them to a new location to help them find food. This will help them to understand why the people had to keep moving around. Areas got picked clean so they had to move on to a new location. **** 1 st period – students will hunt & gather in the courtyard 2 nd period – students will hunt & gather in front of the school 3 rd period – students will hunt & gather the parent pick-up loop & bike rack area (G2’s students will hunt & gather in the portable area) 4 th period – students will hunt & gather in the buss loop area 5 th period – students will hunt & gather in the soccer field 7 th period – students will hunt & gather in the soccer field and basketball courts

 Paleolithic people often moved around in search for food.  They survived by hunting and gathering.  The search for food was their main activity.

 Your task is to work with your tribe to create a skit about how you would find enough “food” in order to survive.  You will need to show how to work together to find “food.”  Skit needs to be about 2 minutes and include at least one prop.  You will have 10 minutes to create the skit.

1. Describe your experience acting like a hunter- gatherer. 2. What made the experience difficult? 3. How could your experience have been easier? 4. Would it be necessary for your group to move around in order to find food? 5. Why do you think the Paleolithic people lived together in groups? 6. Was your skit realistic? How so? Or why not?
