Metodický list DUM seznamuje studenty se základními informacemi o svátku Den nezávislosti formou prezentace. DUM procvičuje získané vědomosti pomocí cvičení v závěru prezentace. Součástí DUM je i řešení cvičení. Snímky se mohou využít k souvislému vypravování. Obrázky slouží k popisu a zdůvodnění jejich souvislosti se státním svátkem. INDEPENDENCE DAY

History the 13 colonies did not agree with British taxes, after French and Indian War King George III made the American colonies pay the war costs, the King taxed sugar, coffee, wine, paper, glass, tea was the last straw, American people wanted more freedom.

Samuel Adam organized a boycott of tea from China, Sons of Liberty, dressed up as Indians, dumped the tea into the harbour, some people were killed, the Revolutionary War / the War of Independence started and lasted for 8 years. 1)

The Declaration of Independence on July 2, 1776 the president of the Second Continental Congress John Hancock was the first to sign it, on July 4, 1776 the final draft was adopted, 2) Independence Day – an official holiday since 1783, a federal holiday since 1941.

Celebrations of July 4 are associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, picnics, baseball games, malls have sales, everyone has a holiday, families celebrate with relatives, homes are decorated with streamers and balloons.
