How to Search by Wealth Code

Many records on Criss+Cross Plus® Real Estate contain a "wealth rating." A wealth rating represents the median income for a street. These ratings enable you to generally direct your searches to higher, middle or lower income areas.

Wealth ratings are estimates based on the most current available U.S. Census Bureau information. Wealth code ratings are not intended to be exact income levels by household, but rather median incomes for the area. Wealth code ranges are expressed in thousands of dollars and differ per state.

Wealth code ratings for each state can be found under Help on the program's menu bar. Click on "How To," "Types of Search Criteria," "General Criteria Selections," and then "Wealth Code Search" to view wealth code information from your state.

To perform a wealth code search:  Click on the Wealth Code button on the General Criteria column.

You will receive the following Wealth Code entry box

NOTE: To enter a RANGE, you may also click on the lowest value, position your pointer to the highest value, hold down the SHIFT key and click on the highest value. TO ENTER A SINGLE WEALTH CODE, click on a single line from the list of wealth codes and click OK. To enter a RANGE of wealth codes, click on the lowest value range. While holding down the left mouse button, scroll down to the highest wealth code you want included in your search. This will highlight the lowest and highest values and all values in between. Your selection will appear in the FROM and TO boxes.

Once you have made your selection, click OK. Your wealth code selection will appear on the Criteria Select Screen. In this example, only properties with wealth codes between 0.8 to 1.4 (lower income areas) will be included in your search. Click OK Begin Search to retrieve your search results.
