Publishers not getting on-board with this movement are just shooting themselves in the foot. Sometimes we hear from patrons, Why cant I get this book? Why dont you own it? And we just tell them the truth: The publisher/ copyright holder has chosen to not make it available to libraries. We absolutely would, if we could. Publishers need to see libraries and librarians as allies in exploring new options and publicity for ebooks, ereaders and other digital endeavors.
