Becoming a 21 st Century Learner

Vocabulary Review Imagery Persuasion Review of Graphic Organizers

Introduce your topic clearly previewing what is to follow. Organize ideas, concepts, and information. Use graphic organizers Use strategies such as definition, classification, compare/contrast, and cause/effect. Include headings and graphics.

Use well chosen facts. Include appropriate definitions. Include details, quotations and other relevant information. Include examples.

Use appropriate and varied transitions to create a smooth flow and make the relationships of ideas and concepts clear.

Establish and maintain a formal style. Use precise language. Use appropriate, specific vocabulary to inform or explain the topic.

Construct a concluding statement that flows from and supports the information presented as well as the topic.
