Look at the 3 rd full paragraph of the No side. – Beyond issues of constitutionality, single-sex classes arent good for students. This is the Topic sentence. Notice that it by itself is an argument that lets you know what the rest of the paragraph is going to be about. – They reinforce gender stereotypes, like the idea that boys are assertive and outspoken, while girls are timid and quiet. This is the Evidence or Concrete Detail Notice that it is the fact that has been researched. – Telling students that the best solution is to split up boys and girls, rather than have them learn to work together, sends the wrong message and does nothing to prepare students for the real world. Notice that the writer has broken down the previous piece of evidence and explained how its important while at the same time connecting it to the topic sentence.

Give me one reason why education should be single sexed? Look at the article (the yes Column) and give me a piece of evidence to support this reason. Now explain to me why this is important and how this proves your reason why education should be singled sexed. Now Lets do the same thing for why education should not be single sexed.
