What is Multimedia? Multimedia is the presentation of information by a computer system using: Graphics Animation Sound Text

Presentation Packages An application package that is used to produce multimedia presentations and displays Allows the user to create a series of slides which can contain presentation elements such as text, graphics, sound and video When slides are displayed one after the other this is called linear linkage

Presentation Elements Text Entered at keyboard Imported from a Word Processing Package Graphics Clip Art Imported from a Graphics Package Audio Imported from a Sound Library Input via Microphone Video Imported from digital video camera

Digital Video Digital video takes up a large quantity of backing storage space 1 hour = 13Gb Non-linear editing is where clips may be arranged in any order, not just the order in which they were filmed
