THE CLOSEST STAR TO THE EARTH THE SUN IS A STAR

THE SUN The Sun is a star. It is the star that is closest to the Earth.

THE SUN The Sun warms us up. It is the only star that is near enough to the Earth so we can feel its heat.

THE SUN The Sun provides the Earth with the light and heat we need to survive.

The Sun provides the light and heat that plants need to grow. We need plants for food and for oxygen to breathe.

THE SUN Our Sun is the closest star to Earth. It is the center of our Solar System. All the planets and other objects orbit around the Sun. Earth
