 Transnational cooperation projects with clear added value to the CENTRAL EUROPE cooperation area  Innovative elements/support of innovation  Programme follows output and result-oriented approach  Project outputs and results should directly support or feed into concrete future initiatives and/or concrete investments  2 pathways to investments (characterised by clear transnational added value):  Pilot investments – paving the way for subsequent investments at a larger scale  Pre-investment activities – preparation of investments  Indicative project size: 1-5 million EUR total eligible budget (average ~ 2 Mio ERDF)  Co-financing rates: Up to 75%: Austria, Germany, Italy Up to 85%: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia  Partnership size: minimum 3 partners from 3 countries (average ~11 partners) PROGRAMME / PROJECT CHARACTERISTICS

 3 Calls for Proposals already launched - ca. 139 Mio EUR ERDF allocated (66 projects approved, 3 rd Call currently under evaluation)  37 projects submitted under AoI 3.3  8 projects funded so far in the field of RES and EE (further 3-4 in the pipeline) E.g. ENERCITY - Reducing energy consumption and CO 2 emissions in cities across Central Europe GOVERNEE - Good Governance in Energy Efficiency ENSURE - Energy Savings in Urban Quarters through Rehabilitation and New Ways of Energy Supply  Restricted Call for Strategic projects – launch November 9, 2010  Candidate partners already pre-selected at national level  2 out of 7 pre-defined strategic project concepts in the energy field:  Introduction of Regional Energy Concepts  Demonstration of Energy Efficiency and Utilisation of Renewable Energy Sources through Public Buildings  4 th Call – will be launched mid of 2011 (not all AoI may be open) PROGRAMME STATE OF THE ART
