Agenda item 3 Financing opportunities under Interreg Europe

2. INTERREG EUROPE 2014-2020 This programme covers the territory of the
EU and Norway and Switzerland. The programme is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) with a budget of €359 million for the period.

The EU Cohesion policy encourages regions and cities from different EU Member States to work together and learn from each other through joint programmes, projects and networks.

"Regional actors in management of natural and cultural heritage must define coordinated, place-based strategies and actions that balance measures of preservation with sustainable exploitation of these assets. This can include improvement of biodiversity protection schemes, sustainable use of NATURA 2000 or other protected areas, increase knowledge and sensitisation of actors"
