Whom Should We Help? Should we help our friends and relatives? How about someone who is not our friends or relatives? How about enemies? Jesus helped all people whoever they were. Examples? Jesus helped people in many ways. Sometimes He gave them what they wanted quickly and sometimes He postponed answering them on purpose.

Jesus Heals the Canaanite Woman’s Daughter

What do you think Jesus did? Matthew 15:21-28 21 Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” What do you think Jesus did?

Matthew 15:21-28 23 But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.” 24 But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”

“It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”

27 And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”

Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

What Do We Learn From This Story When you pray and ask God for something, what does He answer Yes or No? If there is no answer, what should we do? Should we forget about it? How can you be sure that we can meet Christ? Why are we fasting now? During the confession, should we avoid telling Abouna something not so good?

Conclusion Delay in acceptance of some of our prayers is for a certain purpose If we have strong faith we should not give up and continue to seek the Lord’s help – “Lord help me!” We also should help EVERYONE – who are you going to help this week? And let’s learn today’s memory verse together!
