2 2 A WOMAN OF GREAT FAITH (Matthew 15:21-28) The Syro-Phoenician Woman (Mark 7:24-30)

3 3 Matthew 15:21 Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. From there He arose and went to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And He entered a house and wanted no one to know it, but He could not be hidden. Mark 7:24

4 4 For a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and she came and fell at His feet. Mark 7:25

5 5 Matthew 15:22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon- possessed." The woman was a Greek, a Syro- Phoenician by birth, and she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter. Mark 7:26

6 6 Matthew 15:23 But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, "Send her away, for she cries out after us."

7 7 Matthew 15:24 But He answered and said, "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

8 8 Matthew 15:25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord, help me!"

9 9 Matthew 15:26 But He answered and said, "It is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs." But Jesus said to her, "Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs." Mark 7:27

10 10 Matthew 15:27 And she said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table." And she answered and said to Him, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children's crumbs." Mark 7:28

11 11 Matthew 15:28a Then Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire." Then He said to her, "For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter." Mark 7:29

12 12 Matthew 15:28b And her daughter was healed from that very hour. And when she had come to her house, she found the demon gone out, and her daughter lying on the bed. Mark 7:30

19 19 ISAIAH 2:1-3 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw con- cerning Judah and Jerusalem. Now it shall come to pass in the latter days That the mountain of the Lord's house Shall be established on the top of the mountains, And shall be exalted above the hills; And all nations shall flow to it.

20 20 ISAIAH 2:1-3 Many people shall come and say, "Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths." For out of Zion shall go forth the law, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

21 21 NOTICE THE WOMAN'S: REQUESTRESOLVEREVERENCERESILIENCEREQUESTRESOLVEREVERENCERESILIENCE And she said, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table." (Matt. 15:27)

22 22 NOTICE THE WOMAN'S: REQUESTRESOLVEREVERENCERESILIENCEREQUESTRESOLVEREVERENCERESILIENCE And she answered and said to Him, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children's crumbs." (Mark 7:28)

23 23 NOTICE THE WOMAN'S: REQUESTRESOLVEREVERENCERESILIENCEREWARDREQUESTRESOLVEREVERENCERESILIENCEREWARD Then He said to her, "For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter." (Mark 7:29)
