This is a good place to rest, make plans, and share meals. Most importantly, women and children feel safe here.

The secure backyard is a place to play, meditate, talk, garden or just be.

Five bedrooms and three bathrooms afford shelter guests privacy and “space”.

For each guest, safe shelter includes On-going risk assessment/safety planning Support groups Court advocacy Individualized goal plans and objectives As well as access to Food in our pantry and freezer Fresh towels and bed linens Laundry room Personal and first aid items Disposable diapers and other baby needs

How do you calculate the value of safety, confidentiality, and accurate information for people in your community? Here is a little data compiled from Outer Banks Hotline’s service and program records for fiscal year

More than 600 phone contacts regarding domestic violence 407 direct, face-to-face DV client contacts 387 women and 20 men 90 women and 74 children sheltered

48 phone contacts regarding sexual violence 25 sexual violence survivors met at the hospital or with law enforcement
