 The migration of skilled people creates huge problems for countries and should be limited to reduce the negative effects on the remaining citizens. ARGUMENT

 Skilled workers are migrating from less developed countries to find more opportunities in more developed countries.  Many problems ISSUE

 Brain Drain A.K.A “capital flight” - Unstable govt., lacks opportunities, health risks, personal conflict. - Causing problems (development, education, health)  The Blue Card Policy – European citizens work in Europe for at least 2 years temporarily.  Brain gain vs. Brain drain. SUPPORTING IDEAS

 Mid 1900s s amount of skilled African women that left South Africa increased from ¼ to ½.  1981 – 1991: Ethiopia lost 75% of all skilled workers.  Immigrants in the U.S raise the GDP by 37 billion dollars per year. FACTS
