A Biography By: Lawrence and Emma

 born January 15,1929 in Atlanta, Georgia.  Martin had a little brother named Alfred, and a big sister named Christina.  Martin Luther King real name was Michael.

 Martin and his best friend weren’t the same skin color and they couldn’t go to school together.  But Martin became student body president of his class.  When Martin went to high school he was popular and hung out with girls.  Martin went to Booker T. Washington high school, he graduated in 1948

 Martin was so smart he started college at the age of 15.  Martin got accepted to a lot of colleges  Martin went to Crozer in Pennsylvania

Martin married Coretta Scott in 1953 They had four kids Yolanda, Martin Luther King III, Dexter Scott, and Bernice.

 Dr. King talked about equality, and people should be treated equal.  Some people didn’t agree with Martin and they put him in jail.  When Martin was in jail he wrote books and letters to try and change the law to make people equal.  Martin Luther King Jr died when he was 39 years old, the day he died was April 4,1968 a person name James Earl Ray killed him.

 In 1955 Martin accepted leadership of the first great Negro nonviolent demonstration.  in 1957 he was elected President of The Southern Christian Leadership Conference.  In 1964 he was the youngest person to win the Nobel Peace Prize (35 years)
