1 Martin Luther King Jr.

2 Dr. King grew up where whites and blacks could not do anything together. Any where people went there were two of everything for the blacks and whites. He felt that anybody of any race should be treated the same.

3 Martin Luther King Jr. He was the youngest to be awarded the Noble peace prize at the age of 35. He turned over the prize money ( $54,123 ) to the furtherance of the civil rights movement.

4 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King was very smart. He graduated high school at the age of 15. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta, Georgia.

5 Martin Luther King Jr. In 1963, King and his group organized many marches and peaceful protests. The most famous took place on August 28, 1963, at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. This is where King gave his famous “ I have a dream “ speech to over 200,000 people.

6 Martin Luther King Jr. After high school he was admitted into Morehouse college. He got a B.A degree from Morehouse, a distinguished Negro institution of Atlanta from which both his father and grandfather had graduated.

7 Martin Luther King Jr. He received many awards for his many articles and six books.

8 Martin Luther King Jr. He joins the bus boycott after Rosa Parks was arrested on December 1. On December 5 he was elected the president of the Montgomery Improvement Association. He was now the spokesman for the boycott.

9 Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave famous speeches. These speeches inspired young people to follow there dreams and fight for what you want.

10 Martin Luther King Jr. In 1953 Martin Luther King Jr. was in Boston, Massachusetts and he married his wife Coretta Scott.

11 Martin Luther King Jr. King forms the Southern Christian Leadership Conference to fight segregation and achieve civil rights. On May 17 Dr. King speaks to a crowd of 15,000 in Washington D.C.

12 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King was the president of the Civil Rights Movement. President

13 Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King was murdered by James Earl Ray on April 4,1968. James Earl Ray was then convicted for killing Marin Luther King.
