3 Graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia with a BA degree in Sociology Graduated from the Crozer Theological Seminary with a BA of Divinity, which qualified him to become a pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in 1951 Received his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Boston University in 1955

4 Married Coretta Scott on June 18, 1953 Had four children: Yolanda Denise (1955), Martin Luther III (1957), Dexter Scott (1961), Bernice Albertine (1963) Martin had a dream that all people would someday be sisters and brothers in a world governed by equality, justice, and peace Gave a speech on August 28, 1963 in Washington DC at the Lincoln Memorial Was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize for his “I have a dream” speech Believed that Black’s and White’s should be created and treated equally

5 Without Martin Luther Kind Jr. in our world today, Black’s and White’s still would still be segregated from each other and there would still be a lot of tension. The Civil Rights fight would have been extremely more violent and the racism again African American’s would still be very high. Therefore, the world as a whole would be very different and diverse without his present in our lives.

6 Martin Luther King Jr. died on April 4, 1968 (39 years old) in Memphis, Tennessee after being shot at by James Earl Ray by from a Remington 760 Gamemaster while standing on his hotel balcony.

7 The tomb of Martin Luther King Jr. is located on the grounds of the King Center in Atlanta, Georgia along with the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C.
