Company Name Comments from the intern alumni 1,Why did you decide to start internship in E-tos ? I wanted to come to Japan, and when searching for the open opportunities Etos seemed like a good company. It had interesting products and seemed like a nice environment from the information on their web site. Please tell me your satisfaction and the evaluation about this internship. Im very happy with the internship as Etos turned out to be a nicer environment than I thought at first, with very kind employees that were normally trying to fit me in. Also, the work was very interesting, with its importance and difficulty growing in a good pace, from a site to evaluate my skills to making improvements to the companys real web services, giving me opportunity to use my acquired skills and knowledge in real projects and also acquiring new skills and knowledge. Etos also has a lot of interesting ideas and methodologies being applied in the company that could probably be applied to Brazilian companies for some improvement. Overall it was an excellent experience. 3,what is your best results in this internship ? The one that was the most challenging and gave me the most satisfaction after being completed was a project for a mailing system that should be able to send and receive s with emoji and decoration mails between the 4 main cell phone carriers (Docomo, Softbank, EzWeb and Willcom) and computer e- mails. But probably the one with most impact was the SenRepo plan between the SDLC and Etos. It is a web site for introducing Sendais famous food, stores and sightseeing points to foreigners and Japanese who would like to introduce Sendai to foreigners. This plan not only incorporates one of Etos social responsibility services (the anytown portal for developing the region), as it is also a way of strengthening the relation between Etos and the AIESEC as the plan is that this site is continued by the next interns that come to Etos through AIESEC. What are you going to reflect this internship on your life ? As I said before Etos has interesting ideas and methodologies that I would like to see applied to Brazilian companies (maybe my own in the future). Also Etos showed me some ways an IT company can contribute to the society through its CSR initiatives. Finally, after coming to Etos I have changed my mind about working with internet development, and now it is not a crossed off career from my options list. 5,How was the support of SDLC during the internship and before ? The SDLC was a great support before and during the internship, really accompanying the internship monthly, and also creating a good number of opportunities for interaction with the other SDLC members besides the ICX members. The only three problems were with a lack of warning about the difficulties of extending the VISA or getting a tourists VISA after the internship, a little long time for changing the status of the TN in the myAIESEC.net and a somewhat long negotiation and VISA document acquiring process (but this one may be the Japanese Immigration Offices fault). 6,Please advise the next applicant of internship in E-tos. The environment at Etos is really good, with no walls separating departments or desks which makes the communication that much easy. Also the employees and the company president are very kind, fun and interesting people. The things you must be prepared for are: -Speaking all in Japanese; -Speak loud and clear, may it be in the morning and evening greetings or when stating your daily schedule at the morning meeting; -Cleaning duties early in the morning once a week; -Dish washing duties in the evening on a rotation basis; -Never turn down an invitation from the company even if you have other appointments; 4
