Semesters at home and abroad

Exchange on equivalent semesters abroad Many universities abroad do not have teaching in English language. Its is difficult to find a semester that has the same contents as yours at VIA. Teaching methodology can be very different for example more individual work than group work.

The exchange planning process Start as early as possible Europe: Start early in the semester before you want to go abroad. Outside Europe: Start the planning process one year before you plan to go. Visa procedures, etc. may take a long time (Australia/New Zealand 3 months).

EU & Erasmus scholarships A study and learning agreement must be made between VIA and the exchange Institute. The agreements and other useful information can be found on studienet, see this link: ¤ There is no garuantee that you will receive an Erasmus scholarship. ¤

EU & Erasmus scholarships Study scholarship Erasmus scholarships: 250 EUR/month You must be an EU citizen or have a permanent residence permit or official status as a refugee in an EU country (+ Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland, and Turkey). The study period must take place in an EU country or in Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland or Turkey. The foreign university must have a bilateral LLP agreement with VIA University College.

EU & Erasmus scholarships Workplacement scholarship Erasmus grants: 325 EUR/month You must be an EU citizen or have a permanent residence permit or official status as a refugee in an EU country (+ Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland, and Turkey). The placement period must take place in an EU country or in Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland or Turkey.

Study abroad program for Danish citizens Study abroad scholarships Danish Citizens who are entitled to receive the monthly Danish State grant S.U. can have tuition fees paid overseas up to a certain amount. Contact S.U. Administration office in your institution Read more on ”Udlandsstipendium”.

EU & Erasmus scholarships Before you leave: Check that all your documents are correctly filled out and signed by the right persons before you leave. Dead lines for sending your documents to the study administration must be respected. If your documents are not filled out correctly or your documents are delivered after the deadline, you could be refused a scholarship.

Approval of semesters abroad A study program abroad must be approved and a learning agreement made and sent to the host university. Contact VIAs international office about your wishes. You must be approved for an exchange abroad by your departments leader/teachers

Grades and semesters Full time students If you would like to go on exchange in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th semesters you must have an average grade of 4 or higher. Merit students To be approved for exchange for the 7th semester you must have grades of 4 & 4 or higher for the 4th and 5th semesters.

Accomodation abroad Most universities & colleges provide or give you information about accommodation. Before you sign an accomodation contract make sure it is the place you want to live, for the semester abroad.
