Student exchanges take place with our partner EU member countries,
Since 1987, the Erasmus+ program has had more than 1.5 million students participate in higher education. These students have learned about another European country, another country’s people and culture and have experienced a new period of life,
More than 600 Erasmus Exchange agreements within 25 different countries,
Agreements are based on student’s department!

3. ERASMUS + Erasmus+ is not a language program!
Erasmus + is not a scholarship program!
Erasmus + is not a travel program!
Erasmus + is an exchange program that students must be responsible. The student is expected to follow the documents, applications and announcements about the program!

4. ERASMUS + APPLICATION CRITERIA
Minimum GPA of 2.20/4.00 for undergraduate students; minimum GPA of 2.50/4.00 for graduate students,
Successful completion of the first year of the degree program before the Erasmus mobility,
Must be a full time registered student and must not be graduating during the semester that the student will be on Erasmus exchange,
The best suitable time for Erasmus exchange application for undergraduates is 2nd year, 2nd semester and for post-graduates is 1st year, 2nd semester!

8. ERASMUS+ INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Minimum 60 days Traineeship opportunity in an institution in Europe (companies, NGOs or administrative units of universities, research centers)
Students cannot go on Erasmus+ traineeship at diplomatic units, institutions related with the EU or projects funded by the EU
Erasmus Internship Mobility should start earliest on March 1,2017 and must end no later than September 30,2017!
Students can participate the Erasmus Internship within 12 months after the graduation in case they apply when they are active students of BİLGİ.
Summers are preferred mostly,
It is student’s responsibility to finding the institution, submitting health insurance and completing required processes etc. !

9. ERASMUS+ INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Selection Criteria: 50 % CGPA + 50 % Language Score

10. RULES OF EXCHANGE PROGRAMS
Students will not pay the partner university (such as tuition fee),
Students must pay the tuition fee to BILGI (exception for all scholarship students),
Students cannot freeze their registration here at BILGI for the exchange period!
Students must pay for their own living and travel expenses, health insurance, visa fees, etc!

11. COURSE PLAN
Courses or the traineeship that will be taken during the exchange program and the course equivalence will be prepared in advance,
Successfully completed courses or traineeship can be transferred to BILGI at the end of the exchange period ,
Students usually are recommended to participate in an exchange program during their 3rd year, so as to not delay graduation (Exceptions: Law, Double Major)!!!
Students are expected to have 30 ECTS workload for semester, 60 ECTS workload for full year and follow a program equivalent to that workload at the partner institution. In that case, students to be graduated cannot apply!!!
Internship mobility can be transferred to 4 or 6 ECTS elective course!!

12. ERASMUS + EXCHANGE RULES
Academic Year Erasmus+ Exchange Program is between dates of June 1,2017 – September 30, 2018,
Erasmus+ Study Mobility must be at least 3 months!
Each student can participate in Erasmus+ Program more than one time. For Example, a student at bachelor level can go on a study exchange for 10 months and traineeship for 2 months. Same student can participate to Erasmus + Program for another 12 months at graduate level,
In case a student, who participated in the Erasmus program, apply for new Erasmus Exchange in the same cycle, his/her total Erasmus grade will be decreased by -10 points,
You may apply one or two academic semesters. However, BILGI students cannot extend their period for Erasmus+. It is crucially important to select the period accordingly!

13. ERASMUS + EXCHANGE RULES
If you leave the country of the exchange more than 1 week except for national holidays and academic holidays, your grant will be deducted for that period!
For the students who do not take the language exam without informing Erasmus Office, -5 points will be deducted from their Erasmus grade in their application for the following year!
For the students who cancel their mobilities out of the determined deadlines, -10 points will be deducted from their Erasmus grade in their application for the following year!

14. PERMISSIONS
During the exchange period, students will be permitted to leave BILGI,
At the end of the exchange period, the student will return to BILGI,
Credit ttransfer can be done and if they submit a written requirement, their grades can be transferred as well
2/3 Success Rate (Erasmus)
Students who fulfill the requirements will be allowed to graduate!

17. ACCOMODATION AND VISA Varies depending on the host country!
You can find information for housing on the host university’s website
Your host university will send a Letter of Acceptance which will be used to obtain a student visa at your host country’s consulate
Erasmus Student Network (ESN) supports all students before and after the mobility
Students may use social networks

18. ERASMUS MOBILITY GRANT
The National Agency determines the rules, the criteria of selection and the mobility grant according to countries,
All universities ask for grants from The National Agency for its students,
After BILGI Erasmus Office receives it’s budget, it allocates the budget to all exchange students,
We may not receive the budget amount that we ask for!
Even though you may not receive a grant, you still can participate in the Erasmus Program!

19. ERASMUS MOBILITY GRANT
Erasmus+ selection period are held before the National Agency allocates the budgets to universities, therefore receiving grants can not be guaranteed to students during the selection period!
ERASMUS GRANTS: Euro per month,
Grant payments are done in two parts before and after mobility
Criteria for grant allocation: Determined by the Erasmus Commison and applied from one of these below;
Duration of Mobility/ Total number of days basing on their Erasmus Grade ranking
Duration of Mobility/ Total number of days basing on Faculty performance
Allocation grant for 3 months to all students

20. APPLICATION AND SELECTION CRITERIA
Students must apply ONLINE between February 1st and March 1st, 2017!
It is the responsibility of the student to read and be informed about “Application guidelines” and “University Selection Guide” on our online application page!
After the completion of online application, students can not change their partner university selections!

Student Profile; which shows the current CGPA (can be printed from the SIS page)
Course Status; which shows courses left to complete before graduation (can be printed from the SIS page)
Language Proficency Document; prove your level of fluency (exams, courses attended at BİLGİ or elsewhere, diploma) in the case that you speak a European language other than English, and want to go to a university where it is the main language of instruction
NOTE: THE APPLICATION WILL NOT BE COMPLETED AND WILL BE CANCELLED IF YOU DO NOT SUBMIT THESE DOCUMENTS TO THE INTERNATIONAL CENTER!!!

Submission of required documents

Selection Criteria:
50% CGPA + 50% Language score= weighted selection score
English language exam B2:
Exam score b/w: 50-54: instruction is different than English (this applies to those students who have a high school diploma, certificate or any equivalent document in French, German or Italian).
Exam score b/w (B1 level): can be placed to the host institutions where there are courses taught in English
Exam score above 70 (B2 Level): can be placed to the competitive institutions for both Erasmus exchange programs
Students are placed to partner universities automatically according to their Erasmus Grade!
The placement results are sent to DEC for their approval and announced to students!

Visa and Residence Permit are hard, costly and complicated to get!
Universities with language of instruction other than English may require proficiency certificates for their own language!
Universities that use English for language of construction may require beginner level of language proficiency for their own language!
