K-9 Police Dogs Chasing Bad Guys The officer and his K-9 dog chase after the suspect in their patrol car. If the suspect hides, the officer and dog look for him. The dog is told to “find him” and he sniffs out the area. When the dog senses the suspect is near, his ears stand straight up, his body is tense and he is very still. The officer will shout for the suspect to “come out or the the dog will be released.” If the suspect chooses not to come out, the dog is released. The K-9 dog will growl and corner the suspect.
