The Logic behind the Meeting “To base policy consistency and coordination on acquiring and sharing information”   Cross-cutting objective of the Dakar Strategy The Dakar Strategy Roadmap: “it is indispensible to collect data on migration movements and to implement mechanisms for their study: these mechanisms are indeed decisive to implement the policies and measures needed for joint, mutually beneficial management of migration.” 

The Logic behind the Meeting Three objectives: Sessions 1 & 3 To demonstrate the usefulness of drawing on migration data as a basis for policy decisions Session 2 To present tools that are available for evidence-based policy making during phase three of the Rabat Process Session 4 To review the implementation of the Dakar Strategy

The Logic behind the Meeting Expected Results To identify main challenges, best practices and common solutions for evidence-based policy making To launch activities related to migration profiles and the i-Map and to identify target countries for these activities To assess progress made in the implementation of the Dakar Strategy To strengthen the National Focal Points network
