Satisfied? Are you Satisfied? YES Should we be satisfied? YES How are we satisfied? What does the how look like? What does the satisfaction look like?

How are we Satisfied? We need some background

We have a problem: sin Sin is disobeying God – It is rebellion against His nature – It is rooted in Independence Evil is a perversion of Good – God IS Light; Eternal; Before C. S. Lewis: – We are too easily Satisfied – With a counterfeit

HOW?

1 John 2:15-17

15 Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17 The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever. 17 The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.

TAKE A WALK WITH ME...

Whats This?

What happened?

THE WEIGHT OF GLORY

SO...HOW DO WE FIND SATISFACTION?

Go Back to Pauls Words Again 2 Cor. 12:9-10 My grace power of Christ 9 And He has said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. for Christs sake 10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christs sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

Go Back to Pauls Words Again 1 Tim 6:3-12 Lord Jesus Christ 3 If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, 4 he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions, 5 and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. 6 But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment. 7 For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. 8 If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. 9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But flee from these things 11 But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Go Back to Pauls Words Again Philippians 4:10 in the Lord 10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity. 11 Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. 12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. through Him 13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Go Back to Pauls Words Again Philippians 1:21 to live is Christ 21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

Go Back to Pauls Words Again Col. 1: 1-8a with Christ 1 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. your life is hidden with Christ in God 3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Christ, who is our life 4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory. 5 Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. 6 For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience, 7 and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them. 8 But now you also, put them all aside

GOD IS GOD IS THE SOURCE THE SUBSTANCE THE SATISFACTION

Were we able to [get] from any man a complete answer to the question, What comes into your mind when you think about God?, we might predict with certainty the spiritual future of that man -A. W. Tozer

God is most glorified in us, when we are most satisfied in Him. Piper says,

GOD IS GOD IS THE SOURCE THE SUBSTANCE THE SATISFACTION

Jesus also said Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; where your treasure is 21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. [Matt. 6:19-21]

WHERES YOUR TREASURE?

Three Thoughts What if I dont treasure God? – You might not know Him The GOSPEL The sting of sin (Romans 7; Isaiah 6) The Grace of God in the Death of Christ – You might be sick I do treasure Him, but I am not sure what to do with that. – This is your Life – Dont Waste it
