A Cross-eyed View of the World Matt. 6:19-24

19 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22 The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! 24 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.Matt. 6:19-24

Viewing the World With the Evil Eye (Adultery)

Viewing the World With the Evil Eye (Adultery) 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. Matt. 5:28-29

Viewing the World With the Evil Eye (Adultery) 13 and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you, 14 having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children. 2 Pet. 2:13-14

Viewing the World With the Evil Eye (Adultery) 1 I have made a covenant with my eyes; Why then should I look upon a young woman? Job 31:1

Viewing the World With the Evil Eye (Materialism)

Viewing the World With the Evil Eye (Materialism) 22 The lamp of the body is the eye. You cannot serve God and mammon. Matt. 6:22-24

Viewing the World With the Evil Eye (Materialism) 37 Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way. Psalm 119:37

Viewing the World With the Evil Eye (Materialism) 5 Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven. Pro. 23:5

Viewing the World With the Evil Eye (Materialism) 16 For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:16-17

Viewing the World With the Good Eye

Viewing the World With the Good Eye 1 I have made a covenant with my eyes; Why then should I look upon a young woman? Job 31:1

Viewing the World With the Good Eye 19 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22 The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. Matt. 6:19-22

Viewing the World With the Good Eye 16 For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world. 1 John 2:16

Viewing the World With the Good Eye 20 Hell and Destruction are never full; So the eyes of man are never satisfied. Pro. 27:20

Viewing the World With the Good Eye 1 I will sing of mercy and justice; To You, O LORD, I will sing praises. 2 I will behave wisely in a perfect way. Oh, when will You come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. 3 I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me. Psalm 101:1-3

Viewing the World With the Good Eye 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Cor. 4:17-18

Viewing the World With the Good Eye 1 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. Col. 3:1-2
