Research Projects Update CHIETA, The Catalyst for Enhanced Skills, Economic Growth and Employability Research Topics commissioned in 2018/2019… Research Partner Research Theme Research Title Objectives NB: *First draft Reports by end March 2019 Vulindlela Human Performance Technology Impact assessment Correlation between performance in Maths and Science and other school subjects The Project aims to compare the performance of learners in Maths and Science and other schools subjects. The focus will be on learners supported through the CHIETA Maths and Science Project Khanyisela TVET College Other – Relevant Research to advance the chemical sector The cost of private education and training (private provisioning) Aims to assess spending on private provisioning vs. public, to see which synergies and leverages the SETA can utilise in its funding to improve the quality of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges to meet the standards of private provisioning CHIETA Executive Kedibone Moroane BBBEE and Skills Development impact and imperatives Explore the unintended consequences of BBBEE on skills development Research Projects Update

Research Topics commissioned in 2018/2019 Research Partner CHIETA, The Catalyst for Enhanced Skills, Economic Growth and Employability Research Topics commissioned in 2018/2019 Research Partner Research Agenda Theme Research Title Objective EE Research Focus Impact assessment Tracking and tracing of learners trained and completed selected CHIETA programes and an SMME Impact Study The project aims to track and trace learners trained in and completed selected CHIETA Programmes (Learnerships, Apprenticeships and Work Integrated Learning) in the first three quarters of the 2017-2018 Financial year (in line with DHET’s scope) and an impact study on 10 SMMEs trained through the CHIETA Voucher Scheme Ozone Business Consulting (Pty) Ltd Sustainability and Socio-economic development Possible future skills in the chemical sector (with a focus on the 4th Industrial Revolution and Green Skills as change drivers) The project aims to identify possible future skills in the Chemicals sector focusing on the 4th industrial revolution and green skills
